Bird Migrations in October! • Beach Blog 10/19

Flocks of birds were laboriously going south today in these wind and rain storms. At one point it looked like there was a bucket brigade in the sky pouring down their buckets of water. It looked like sheets of rain shooting off a roof everywhere I looked. Today was quite a day by Mother Nature.  She offered the opportunity to walk under dry skies on the beach at about 5pm. I took it. Many flocks of birds came along while the wind picked up again and the big drops started falling.

Bird Migrations are Science in Action

The flocks will return in spring. Celebrations include the Grays Harbor Shorebird Festival.

Rain forests need rain.

Rain has come back to the rain forest and the bird migration continues. All is right with the world.
